Honeymoon

We went to a lot of places while on honeymoon; got the Eurostar to Brussels, stayed a night there, got a train to Cologne, stayed a night there, caught the overnight sleeper train to Copenhagen, stayed in that fine city for two nights, took an overnight ferry to Oslo, stayed there for a night then took a beautiful seven hour train ride to Bergen where we stayed for four nights before going home. Phew! It was hard work, and we’re in need of a proper holiday now, but was a wonderful experience and something I’ll remember with joy for the rest of my days. I’ve just booked part of our honeymoon. Can you tell what it is? Probably not, but at least I got to apply my newly learned Photoshop colour correction skills! (need more practice)

So Sunrise festival was a washout. We ended up camping in a paddy field. I could have been worse though and we ended up visiting Longleat safari park to cheer us up. Plus as Sunrise was officially postponed we’re off to another festival later on in the year as compensation. There should be some sun this time.

But this is not the reason I’m posting. Oh no. My engagement ring has finially been made. It’s beautiful! I can’t stop staring at it. It’s opal with two little garnets on either side in white gold.

Isn’t it lovely? The opal changes colour every time I look at it. In case you’re interested, it was made by Antoinette from Harriet Kelsall Jewellery who was quite frankly amazing.

In an attempt to write here more regularly, I present to you Web Monday. A couple of websites hand picked by me in which you’ve proberbly heard of months before I have. But, you know, it’s Monday, we’re all back on our desks and we all need a little distraction from time to time. To start us off I have two sites I’ve been looking at for a while and have managed to produce many hours of entertainment for me.

The first, FAIL blog for all the pictures of boats crashing into houses than you could ever need. The second website is Offbeatbride a site full of red wedding dresses, rockabilly stationary and lovely photography.

Well, ahem. It’s been a while hasn’t it? I’m rubbish. In my defence, I have been busy. Mainly wedding venue hunting. We spent a lovely week travelling round Dorset visiting relatives and looking at very nice and very expensive venues. If you want to have a look at pictures, there’s a set on my Flickr.

Anyway, we’ve found a venue. Athelhampton House near Puddletown. It’s a beautiful old house with amazing gardens and the Olivier film Sleuth was filmed here. Here’s a picture:

It’s lovely and this picture doesn’t do it justice at all, but you get the idea.

There’s a good chance that this blog will turn into a wedsite for the next few months, but I’ll try and include other things too. Such as the peppers I’m growing! Wooo!

It’s covered in aphids already.
